24. Why can't I see the galleries? | Some content seems to be missing.| Why do I see a box about "ActiveX"?
clearWhile most visitors to our site have no problem viewing active content, there are some who encounter problems, due to browser and firewall settings. Most noticeably our galleries contain Flash as a means to view the transformation of a restored image from it's original damaged state to our end result.

These users are normally using Internet Explorer, if you are using Safari, Firefox, Opera, or Google Chrome to browse the internet and cannot view active content then either you have active content blocked on your security settings, your firewall settings are extremely high, or you need to download the plug in to play the active content, in which case a little link should appear where the content belongs leading you to the provider of that media type.

If you are using Internet Explorer what is more likely the problem is the browser's default settings to block all "ActiveX" content. ActiveX simply implies all active content, and while the original intention of this function was to protect internet viewers from downloading malicious programming, it unfortunately blocks ALL Active web content. This includes movies and flash applications. There are two ways of over coming this, the first being the easiest.

When the activex box appears in internet explorer click yes.

clear1) If a popup like this one above appears while your trying to view our site, click "Yes". While this will fix the immediate problem, and allow you to view and move about in our photo galleries, it will not disable the box from appearing again. Meaning you may have to click it every page you view that has Flash on it. This is one of the major reasons why a large number of people are downloading Firefox as a browser alternative, and is also a main reason why Google has developed Chrome as another browser.

If a yellow bar appears on your internet browser giving you options to control the view of the page, click the bar to open the options and then select the "allow for this site" option.

clear2) If a yellow bar appears at the top of your browser, click the "Click here for options" area. Normally it will give you the ability to allow active content for the site. Enabling that should permit you to view the site completely.

If your using Internet Explorer and your having a consist ant amount of trouble viewing this site as well as other sites, then you may want to consider downloading an alternative browser. All to the following are secure, and perform as well as Internet Explorer if not better.

Click here to download Google Chrome Click here to download Firefox Click here to download Opera. Click here to dowload Safari.
